Chai & C.H.Ā.T. invites you to Spoorthi, an evening of Kuchipudi – An Indian Classical Dance

“Spoorthi” by Aishwarya Rajarshi on Thursday 10th October at Goodenough College in London

7:00pm: chai & samosas

7:30pm: Performance & Discussion

Aishwarya has over 20 years of training in the Indian classical dance Kuchipudi. She started learning the South Indian dance at the age of five under the tutelage of Guru Sri Bhagavatula Venkata Rama Sarma, descendant of the pioneering families of the tradition. Aishwarya has performed widely in India and internationally, and won prestigious scholarships and is a member of the International Dance Council of the United Nations.

Spoorthi, which means inspiration, is a selection of dance pieces accompanied by explanations brought together and curated especially for Goodenough. Explore the magical world of Indian classical dance, where each facial expression, hand gesture and bodily movement entail specific meanings that together narrate fascinating stories and epics.
