A vision comes to life in a grand operatic musical featuring leading dance and vocal stars from South India, conceived and scripted by Krithika Subrahmanian.

Swappnam translates dreams in many Indian languages onto stage in a panoramic dance theatre production featuring classical dancers from all over India.

The production features the first-ever full-length musical composition for classical dance production by India’s premier film composer Isaignani Ilayaraaja.

The scale and grandeur of Swappnam bring to life the power of dreams, connecting us to our past, anchoring our present and revealing our inner selves.

Senior vocalists including TV Gopalakrishnan, Sudha Raghunathan, Sharreth and young talents such as Abhishek Raghuram give voice to Ilayaraja’s flourishing voice symphonies, ballads, soulful padams and powerful operatic overtures.

Instrumentalists including AK Palanivel, Rajhesh Vaidya and Kaarthik Raja add layers of melody.

Krithika Subrahmanian is a classical dancer trained in the Thanjavur Pandanallur school of Bharatanatyam under the tutelage of Padmashri Dr Sudharani Raghupathi since the age of seven.

A juxtaposition of tradition and modernity has emerged as her trademark in concert space and has made her one of the most exciting dancers to watch in India.
