After the success of last years Pongal Feast where traditional vegan and vegetarian Malaysian Tamil cuisine was served, Gopal’s Corner will be hosting another this year on the 15th & 16th January 2020.

Thai Pongal is an annual harvest festival, the Tamil equivalent of Thanks Giving, held to honour the sun, for a bountiful harvest. The sun is offered a “Pongal” of rice & milk.

Families and friends gather to rejoice and share their harvest with others. It is celebrated in mid-January by over 70 million Tamil people across South india, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore & afar.

Gopal’s Corner will be serving the following on a banana leaf: three types of vegetable curries, rice, pongal, sambar, appalam, vadai, payasam & kesari all for just £9.95.

All the items are Vegan, except for the Kesari which is suitable for vegetarians.

It should be noted that in addition to the Pongal Feast, Gopal’s Corner’s “Malaysian Tamil” menu is also available to customers.
